Michael….An Eagle Scout Gives Back!

Michael, a member of our community, and an Eagle Scout, reached out to us in June of this year to ask if there was something he could do for his Eagle Service Project to be able to give back to GiGi’s, the very place that has given him so much over the years. We thought about it, and soon realized a huge project that we need lots of help at GiGi’s, is organizing our gym equipment room. Our volunteers depend on this closet to store and organize all our gym equipment.

From that moment, a project was created, for not only Michael to work on, but his entire troop 724, to work together with parents to organize and install shelving for our gym equipment room. After careful planning from Michael and his parents, David and Ann, everything came together. In the beginning of September, troop members and families pulled out all the equipment from the closet. The walls got painted, shelves and racks were installed, and now we have an equipment room that keeps all our supplies neatly organized for our community. This was ready to go in time for our fall programming.

This project has been a game changer for our organization! All the volunteers are thrilled to find what they are looking to use for their program immediately, and it is easy to put everything back in an orderly way. Volunteers no longer need to come in super early to find equipment that they need – it is just there, and ready to go.

We are so appreciative for Michael, his parents David and Ann, as well as the entire troop 724 for pitching in to make a difference at our playhouse. Michael, you have created a lasting legacy that will make a difference for many years to come. Thank you for giving back to GiGi’s!
