Matching Passion to Purpose at GiGi’s Playhouse Tampa
Ever since GiGi’s Playhouse Tampa was welcomed in the Tampa Bay area, I knew of their mission of acceptance for all. It became personal in 2016 when my best friend’s daughter, Sophia was born, and I wanted more than ever for acceptance to be universal.
As I started to write today, a Facebook memory appeared. It was the 1st time I held Sophia after her graduation from the NICU. I mean talk about kismet. This caused me to pause and remind myself why I believe in GiGi’s Playhouse and if why I will be participating in the 2nd annual GiGiFIT Acceptance Challenge for GiGi’s Playhouse Tampa this year as a participant and a volunteer.
One of the tenet’s of GiGi’s Playhouse is an idea of “Best of All”. This is part of the purposeful programs to meet people where they are at and to celebrate all the wins by doing a bit better than the day before. Couldn’t we all use that in our daily lives? I know I could use those Best of All celebrations when it comes to thinking about a race!
Saturday, March 18th 2023 will be a day of celebration as we all have our own Best of All moments at the GiGiFIT Acceptance Challenge. I hope you will be there to celebrate with us and learn more about where you could find purpose in GiGi’s Playhouse Tampa. I have attended events at GiGi’s Playhouse Tampa for 4 years and I have been a member of the Board for 2 years. The Playhouse is full of passionate people who spread the GiGi’s Playhouse mission of acceptance for all. If you are looking to make an impact, please consider checking out our various volunteer opportunities from programs, to outreach, to advocacy, to events. Donations and grants will fund future and existing programs. This includes 1-on-1 Literacy Tutoring, 1-on-1 Math Tutoring, Cheer Gems, Leaps and Bounds, Fantastic Friends, and more.
