Family Perspective – Mathias Hoehn

Hello everyone!

This is MaKenzie again with another family perspective on life at GiGi’s Playhouse! Today I discussed the adventures of little Mathais Hoehn with his father, Georg. Mathais participates in the literacy tutoring program here at GiGi’s. We are currently in our summer session of literacy tutoring which ends in August, however, don’t fret because Fall session will pick-up immediately in September.

Our one-on-one literacy tutoring program aims to foster a love for reading while mastering literary skills. By developing reading skills, participants make strides in speech and language development, auditory perceptual skills and working memory function. Students can begin participation in our programs as early as 3 years old and our trained tutors always work at the level of the child. As well as providing the family members with tools to aid their child’s literacy development between sessions. For more information on GiGi’s literacy programs and application refer to the link attached at the bottom!

When asked about his favorite thing about GiGi’s Playhouse, Georg responded that GiGi’s provides a friendly and welcoming environment. “Coming here is like seeing family, but the ones you like, not the ones you don’t like” Georg says. As a father he also enjoys how the Playhouse is always a place where he doesn’t have to worry because of the safe and secure environment. He doesn’t always have to worry what Mathias is getting into. Our volunteers and faculty always aim to make every participant feel include, welcome and safe! Thank you for reading and I will be back next week with another family perspective on our wonderful Playhouse!!  MaKenzie : )
