Meet your Program Lead for Saturday Playhouse Pals

GiGi’s Playhouse Tampa is so fortunate that so many experts in the therapy fields want to volunteer and help our families and participants.   Kathy Sills will bring a lot to our Playhouse.  We can’t wait to get started.  Remember to RSVP through our website calendar at gigisplayhouse.org/tampa/calendar.

Hello! My name is Kathleen, but my friends call me “Ms. Kathy”.  I am certified as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) and as a teacher of the deaf and hard of hearing.  I have  over 33 years combined experience, working in Hillsborough County Schools, private practice, and in the University settings.   Currently, I am a clinical instructor in the graduate SLP program at the University of South Florida where I am passionate about working with children and their families and mentoring future SLP’s.  I have extensive experience in implementing early intervention and school age programs that support learning through multiple modalities using evidence based practices.  My expertise is working with special populations (i.e. Deaf or Hard of Hearing, Down Syndrome, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Augmentative and Alternative Communication, Childhood Apraxia of Speech).  I am fluent in American Sign Language, served as a Special Olympics coach for several years, and continue to provide community outreach on a regular basis to promote awareness of various communication disorders.  I am very excited to be part of the GiGi’s Playhouse team!
