Love Our Team – Misty Dais

The second Saturday of the month here at GiGi’s is our LMNOP day. Language, Music N’ Our Peeps is a wonderful program for our younger friends that is an interactive and engaging program designed to guide parents and young children through learning basic sign language and other forms of communication while using music and language-based activities.

We are blessed to have Misty Dais from Quad Cities Music Therapy as the leader for this program. She’s been leading this program since early in 2019 and it was one of the programs that we held virtually during COVID thanks to her dedication.

Misty originally heard about GiGi’s thanks to Social Media and we’re so glad she did. We asked is she had any words of advice and she had this to say:

“I don’t have words of advice, but words of welcome! GiGi’s Playhouse is an amazing resource for families, and is overwhelmingly compassionate and helpful to everyone who comes through the doors.”

We asked if there was something she’d like to say about her time here at GiGi’s.

“My favorite thing about GiGi’s is the love and support they show for all their participants. It is very fulfilling to share my skills and have a direct positive impact on our community.”

Misty would “Absolutely!” encourage others to get involved with GiGi’s. She says “GiGi’s programs are thoughtfully planned and an incredible service to the community.”

A fun fact that Misty shared was that she loves to travel, and one of her dream destinations is the Lofoten Islands in Norway to see where her grandmother was born.

That trip sounds like it would be wonderful and we hope she’s able to take it sometime soon. Although we know she’s super busy at the music therapy center.

We’re very thankful for Misty as she has introduced other music therapists to GiGi’s AND invited our participants to be part of special community events too.
