Love Our Team – Chad Johnson

In honor of Presidents Day today, we thought it was a great day to show our love for our Board President!

Please meet Chad Johnson! Chad and his family learned about GiGi’s from a nurse when their daughter Mila was born. They have been part of the Playhouse since 2013 and he joined the board in 2015. This is his second year serving as our board president.

Chad works for Professional Building Services of the Quad Cities, Inc. where he wears many hats!

Since Chad has been involved for several years we asked him if he had any advice for someone just getting started. He said “Get involved in the programing, ask to volunteer in a program or committee! Everyone at GiGi’s is very supportive and there are great resources, programs, and individuals and their families. to welcome you.”

Chad’s WHY is: “To make our local Playhouse a strong resource for programs and therapies that enable and enrich their lives while giving them a place to enjoy their friends without judgement.” and he said he would “Definitely!” encourage others to get involved. “It’s an organization that has a large impact on our Down syndrome community. It’s a place where you will always be welcomed and appreciated.”

When asked to share a #bestofall about our Playhouse, Chad had this to say: “It’s the staff, volunteers, board and the families that make our local GiGi’s Playhouse what it is. If we didn’t have those individuals supporting our Playhouse and its programs, I feel our individuals would not have the opportunity like they do and allowing them to achieve their Best Of All throughout the years.”

A fun fact about Chad and his family: “Our family is Taco fanatics. We enjoy trying out new authentic Mexican restaurants and their tacos.” Sounds like Chad’s family and Anna’s family should head up the Taco fundraiser?! (see previous blog)

Chad added the following comment as an extra statement during his interview: “GiGi’s has been a great resource and advocate for Down syndrome in the Quad Cities. We are fortunate to have our own local Playhouse and we are grateful for the services they provide. We appreciate the support and acceptance from everyone while allowing us to participate, support and belong to a wonderful organization.”

We are blessed to have Chad and his family actively participating in many programs and committees to help our Playhouse be the best it can be.
