Fall in love with GiGi’s this fall!

It’s hard to believe that fall will be here before we know it. Here are GiGi’s we are working hard to finalize all of our fall program plans but we NEED your help! You are invited to be part of our fall and our future too! We know you’ll fall in love! Maybe you’re already in love with GiGi’s and are looking for a way to get more involved. Here’s your chance! Check out all these exciting volunteer roles we need to fill!

Tutors

You can make a difference! Help an individual with Down syndrome along on their learning journey.

• Fall 2023 tutoring session begins the week of September 4th and ends in early December
• Applications close August 13th
• We provide training (mostly online)
• Meet once a week with your assigned participant
• You choose the topic, day, and time

GiGi Prep Leaders & Assistants

GiGi Prep is a career development program for participants 18 and up. This program focuses on math and communication skills, healthy eating, fitness and so much more.

• Begins September 5th
• Meets on Tuesdays & Thursdays from 1-5 pm (Can’t stay the entire time? We can work with you!)

GiGiFIT Leaders & Assistants

This is a perfect opportunity for a Physical Therapist or someone inspiring to be a Physical Therapist. In the past, we’ve had a number of PT students assist with this program. Training is provided!

• Begins September 9th and ends early December
• Meets at 9 am on Saturdays

Group Speech Program Assistants

This is a perfect volunteer opportunity for those interested in becoming Speech & Language Therapists but that is not a requirement! Contact our Speech Pathologist Ms Ann to learn more. Call 309-762-7529 or email programsquadcities@gigisplayhouse.org.

Program Assistants for Teen & Adult Programs

Teen Tastic & Fantastic Friends meets on the 2nd & 4th Friday of every month from 6-8 pm.

Liz and Amanda are the amazing leaders for these programs but they need dedicated assistants to help make them the best they can be.

We are currently looking to fill leader and assistant roles for several group programs.

• Destination Discovery

You can help plan and lead one of these amazing programs! Days and times for these program vary and can be adjusted based on your availability.

Committee Members

Here at GiGi’s there are a variety of committees that you can be part of. These committees help with planning events, overseeing marketing/outreach, guiding fundraising and finance, plus more!

• Fundraising/Finance Committee
• Outreach/Marketing Committee
• Programs Committee
• Parent Engagement Committee (all new committee)
• Special Events Planning Committees (gala, run/walk, fashion show)
