May 2021 Best of All

Each month we look back on the previous month and choose 3 stories to share with our board and the national office.

We also highlight many of them on the Best of All Wall here at the Playhouse!

Here’s a look back at May 2021!

Participant Best of All

During Fantastic Friends, Christy really showed us her #bestofall! She was able to modify any yoga poses to better meet her needs. She really showed us how flexible she is! She said she really enjoyed the yoga class and hopes to do more. Ms. Suzanne showed us some relaxing yoga stretches and even some breathing techniques to release stress!

Fantastic Friends is a  fun purposeful & social gathering for adults with Down syndrome, their peers, and the community. Supports the development of social skills and language through peer-to-peer interaction in a casual and fun setting. Recommended for Adults 18+.

Volunteer Spotlight

Our friend Michael and his mom Chris came to collect all the donations and take them to the food pantry. Thank you to those that donated especially our Teen Tastic and Fantastic Friends participants and Royal Neighbors Chapter 20044 for the large donation. We were able to donate 4 boxes of food and personal hygiene products equaling 113 pounds!

Playhouse Inspiration

Top Shape Gym hosted a cycling event called “Cycling for GiGi’s.” It was such an inspiration to see community members sweating, cycling, and smiling for acceptance! Thank you to all that planned and attended the event. They raised over $500!
