Why GiGi’s One-on-One Programs?

Exceptional Programs at No Cost

At GiGi’s Playhouse, all programs are offered completely free of charge to families—but that doesn’t mean they’re free for us to provide. While “free” is sometimes associated with lower quality, that couldn’t be further from the truth at GiGi’s.

Take our Amina Grace Speech & Language Program, for example. It’s led by a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist, ensuring expert oversight and high standards. All of our volunteer literacy and math tutors complete 6–7 hours of required training through our virtual GiGi’s Training Platform, a robust Learning Management System (LMS) designed to prepare them for success.

What These Services Typically Cost Elsewhere

ServiceAverage Cost Per Hour
Speech & Language Therapy$40–$50
Literacy Tutoring$15–$40
Math Tutoring$15–$40

What You Pay at GiGi’s: $0 – FREE

We don’t ask about income, insurance, or waivers—because we don’t need to. These life-changing programs are truly offered at no cost to families. In today’s world, that’s rare, and we are proud to make it possible through the generosity of donors, grant funding, fundraising events, and our amazing volunteers.

One-on-One Programs

Literacy Tutoring | Math Tutoring | Speech & Language Therapy

These individualized programs are offered three times a year—in Spring, Summer, and Fall—and are designed based on how individuals with Down syndrome learn best.

  • Sessions are once a week for 45 minutes
  • Scheduled around your availability
  • Led by trained and certified volunteer tutors
  • Tailored using multi-sensory teaching approaches to meet the unique needs of each participant
  • Each program utilizes research and reference materials related to individuals with Down syndrome and their learning styles

GiGi’s aims to open doors for individuals with Down syndrome in the workplace, schools, and the community.

📌 Note: Enrollment is based on tutor availability. While we do our best to match every applicant, space is limited, and first-time applicants are given priority.
