July 2025 Best of All

The highlights below are just a few of the #bestofall moments we witnessed during July.

Participant Best of All

Our best of all spotlight this month goes to our young friends in Destination Discovery: Sports! During this four-week program, our friends learned to play different playground and gym-class games. They worked on following the rules, taking turns, and practicing good sportsmanship. Each week and with each new type of game, our friends had a chance to shine. Whether it was Pax helping his friends understand how to follow the rules of GaGa Ball or Amelia showing off her dribbling skills during basketball, each kiddo had fun with their friends. They cheered each other on both on and off the court. Big thanks to leaders Paige and Rylie for leading this fun program. We can’t wait to bring it back next summer.

Volunteer Spotlight

We couldn’t choose just one Volunteer of the Month—because all four of our amazing summer interns deserve the spotlight!

A huge THANK YOU to Ava, Paige, Abby, and Colleen! Your support made our incredible summer lineup of programs possible, and we’re so grateful for the energy, dedication, and heart you brought to GiGi’s.

As your time with us comes to a close, please know how much you are appreciated. We wish you nothing but the very best in your future endeavors—you’ll always have a place in the GiGi’s family!

Playhouse Inspiration

On a rainy, stormy, and steamy Saturday morning in July, a large crowd gathered at the Indian Hills Golf Course clubhouse for the annual Hackers & Slackers Charity Golf Outing.

The day started with everyone simply trying to stay dry while waiting to hear if golf would happen at all. Around 9:30 a.m., an announcement was made: play would be delayed to allow the course some time to dry out. Spirits remained high, and soon after, the Hackers & Slackers Facebook page shared the update everyone had been hoping for:
“WE ARE PLAYING GOLF TODAY!”

Thirty out of the thirty-six registered teams returned to the course—and we heard nothing but fun stories from the fairways all day long!

After the final putts dropped, many golfers made their way to the after-party at Old Oaks Winery, where they were joined by GiGi’s families, participants, and others who hadn’t attended the golf outing itself. The atmosphere was full of energy, and the band Radio Fighter Pilots absolutely rocked the night!

Then came the waiting… the rest of the month was filled with anticipation as we awaited the final total of what the amazing 3 Guys & A Wish had raised. Their generosity—and the incredible support from all involved—made this a July to remember.

UPDATE:

As of 8/4/25, this amazing event raised $37,000 for our playhouse. This is the largest single donation our playhouse has ever received!

YOU can submit your Best of All stories and moments too!

Staff typically choose these stories, but we’d love to hear from you, too! If you see or hear something worth highlighting, please let us know!
