Programs return this week at GiGi’s Playhouse!

Our programs are kicking off this week, with Gratitude Committee meeting today, our first Literacy Pod of the fall meeting tomorrow, and the launch of our new Teen social program, TeenTastic, this Friday. This Saturday we look forward to being a part of the NDSS Buddy Walk, and next Saturday, our programs will be fully back in the swing!

Here are our top three reasons we are excited for the fall!

1) Partnerships! We are excited to be working with great organizations throughout the city to continue grow and provide the best possible programs for our community.

New York Cares- one of the great non-profits in the city, New York Cares, will be helping us provide new programming for teens, staffing and planning our monthly TeenTastics

The IDEAL School – A model of inclusive education and leader in the special education, especially with individuals with Down syndrome. We are excited to be working with their staff to launch one-on-one literacy tutoring!

Early Childhood Intervention graduate program at Hunter College– Students from this program will be working with the newest members of our community to provide supplemental activity in a social environment for children two and under. They will also work directly with parents to help them access resources.  Learn more about Busy Bodies

2) Down Syndrome Awareness Month- To kick off a month of awareness in October, we will be supporting our friends at the National Down Syndrome Society at the Buddy Walk, one of the biggest Down syndrome awareness events of the year! Then we look forward to a month of fun events and campaigns to spread the word about how AWESOME our community is.
