World Down Syndrome Day / 4yr party

Celebrate World Down Syndrome Awareness Day and GiGi’s Playhouse Milwaukee’s 4th Anniversary! This  entire day is an occasion to “participate in activities and events to raise public awareness and create a single global voice for advocating for the rights, inclusion, and well-being of people with Down Syndrome.” Mismatched socks are used to raise awareness and show the world that we are more alike than different. Help us to raise awareness by wearing BRIGHTLY COLORED SOCKS, MISMATCHED SOCKS, LONG SOCKS, PATTERNED SOCKS OR AN EXTRA SOCK for 3 chromosomes.

When someone asks you, “Why are you wearing those mismatched socks”!!!!” Tell them you are wearing them for ‘Ruby’ who is your friend that has Down syndrome! Wear them for someone you know with Down syndrome! Wear them for Down syndrome Awareness because it’s World Down Syndrome Awareness Day on 3.21.19!

Did you know that 3/21 is World Down syndrome Day? Why 3/21? Individuals with Down Syndrome have 3 copies of the 21st chromosome, therefore 3/21 

21st March 2019 marks the 14th anniversary of World Down Syndrome Day. A global awareness day which has been recognized by the United Nations since 2012.
