GiGi’s programming is truly making a difference

Best of All Moment:

During the spring session of the adult SMART program, the emphasis had been on “Numbers in Everyday Life.” During the program group meetings, we had activities concerning numeral recognition, one-on-one correspondence, object counting, continuing a number sequence and the like. One of the favorite activities was the group game called “Ten.”
As a program leader, I was not sure if I was seeing any measurable gains in these addressed math skills. However, my own son soon demonstrated to me that our efforts were making a difference. He was now reading numerals aloud while in the car, when weighing himself, and when he say a digital clock. He was recording his weight on a calendar on his own each morning. The SMART program was truly making a difference!
