About GiGi’s Lancaster
GiGi’s Playhouse in Lancaster, PA opened on January 11, 2020, thanks to a great community of families, friends, educators, therapists and community members who worked together to make the dream a reality. We believe that by opening GiGi's Playhouse, we now have an even greater opportunity to impact more families in Lancaster and the surrounding counties.
GiGi's Playhouse is the only worldwide network of Down syndrome achievement centers; changing lives through free, results-driven programs for individuals of all ages, their families & communities. In helping individuals with Down syndrome achieve their best of all, we also advance our larger vision of global acceptance for people of all abilities. GiGi's was established 20 years ago and has 60+ locations.
GiGi's Playhouse Lancaster is unique because we are able to provide a physical location for participants of all ages and their families to participate in educational and therapeutic-based programming. Programs are always free to families, as cost will not be a barrier to achievement or acceptance. Programs are typically about one hour and held on a weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly basis. Programs are specific to certain age groups. They are usually based on a theme and facilitate learning for participants through fine and gross motor activities, play, books, games, art, music, sign language, sensory activities and more.
We want to be a positive light for participants and their families because we believe that individuals with Down syndrome have a unique ability to touch someone's heart and change their life in a positive way. We believe that every person with Down syndrome can make a big difference in the lives of their families, friends and community! Through GiGi's Playhouse, we want to empower participants with Down syndrome to overcome obstacles, reach their goals, and achieve their Best of All!

With over 58+ brick-and-mortar locations across the United States and Mexico and 200 inquiries to start new locations all over the world, GiGi’s Playhouse is the ONLY network of Down Syndrome Achievement Centers. Every day, we provide FREE, life-changing therapeutic, educational, and career training programs for 30,000+ individuals of all ages.
Down syndrome is the largest chromosomal disability in our country and yet, it is the least funded. From a prenatal diagnosis to career skills, we make a lifetime commitment to remain by their side. Families are empowered with all the tools their child needs to succeed!
Through free programs and through our Generation G Campaign for global acceptance, we EMPOWER families by maximizing opportunities for daily achievement and lasting acceptance. To ensure lasting acceptance, we must show the world what individuals with Down syndrome are truly capable of achieving as students, co-workers, volunteers, friends, and valued members of their communities. Our program outcomes help advance this vital social impact goal.
