GiGi’s means so much…

GiGi’s Playhouse means so much to our family…

I’ll never ever forget taking our son to the Playhouse for the first time… for weeks beforehand, I would sit in my car in the parking lot with my son and just stare at the GiGi’s Playhouse sign… I knew that once we walked in, Down syndrome would be “official” and we’d be all in – advocating, accepting, and loving our son for all that he is ♥️ . Of course we already loved our son immensely, but we were not advocating for him. It was an overwhelming thought… but we finally got the courage to take that leap… and I only wish we’d done it sooner! Our family was welcomed with numerous open arms and smiling faces. We got a tour of the Playhouse, references galore, and a goodie bag to take home that included a book I still read to our son every night.

Because of GiGi’s, we have been able to take our son to weekly LMNOP groups where he learns so much! He learns songs, signs, social skills, numbers, colors, and more. LMNOP is an interactive and engaging program designed to guide parents and young children through learning basic sign language and other forms of communication using music and language-based activities. We’ve also been able to connect with countless other families in our area. We love to show all of our friends and family about the amazing, FREE, educational programs for people with Down syndrome. We’ve been taking our son to the Playhouse since he was 7 months old and he is about to age out of LMNOP (0-3 year group). Now he is ready for the next step and is attending Leaps And Bounds, GiGiFit, and even 12 week programs of Speech therapy! There really is something for everyone.

GiGi’s Playhouse… WE LOVE YOU. WE THANK YOU.
