Our volunteers are EPIC!

Meet Sarah Hill!  She is one of our dedicated interns at GiGi’s Playhouse Hoffman Estates.  She is a co-facilitator of the EPIC program, which teaches adults with Down syndrome various skills to boost confidence including vocational, social, and community building skills.  She is also a co-coordinator of the Math Tutoring program where she supports the tutors and students through their learning process.

Sarah is a graduate student at Aurora University studying towards her MSW. She completed her undergraduate internship working at an assisted living facility for individuals with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia. She also has experience volunteering at a nonprofit that provides music and art therapy for adults with disabilities. These experiences have helped Sarah explore her passion for helping others.

One of Sarah’s primary goals is to learn how to effectively support individuals with disabilities through their transition to adulthood, both at the home and in their community. Her plan for the future is to obtain her license as a social worker and pursue a career in case management. Sarah is so happy to be a part of the GiGi’s Playhouse organization and we are so grateful to have her!
