Dancing Into Wellness: Meet Our Enthusiastic Instructors, Sabrina and Rachel!

Are you ready to groove and get fit? Well, Sabrina and Rachel certainly are! These dedicated volunteers have generously committed their Wednesday evenings to spearhead our exciting new program—Adult Dance! Let’s get to know the dynamic duo bringing the rhythm to GiGi’s Playhouse Hoffman Estates.

Sabrina, a seasoned veteran of the Playhouse, brings a wealth of experience to the dance floor. A few years back, she took charge of our GiGiFIT Teens class, creating unforgettable moments with participants. Her love for the community was so profound that she couldn’t stay away, and now she’s back to lead Adult Dance with infectious energy.

Joining Sabrina is the talented Rachel, who will be co-leading the sessions. With over 15 years of dance experience under her belt, Rachel adds a touch of expertise to the program. Her passion for dance and commitment to fostering a positive environment make her the perfect co-captain for this exhilarating journey.

Rachel’ testimony is truly inspiring, “I have been dancing since I was two years old.  It is something I have always found comfort and fulfillment in, especially as an adult. When I saw GiGi’s was starting an Adult Dance class and they were looking for volunteers, I knew this would be the perfect fit!

I have a little brother with Down syndrome. James is turning 21 this year, so he is not so little anymore! James has been my greatest teacher, and I find that individuals with Down syndrome have such a divine ability to be present, grounded, and joyful. I love all that GiGi’s has to offer, and I am humbled by the opportunity to work with this new group of adults!

Our first dance class was a major success! All of the participants came in with such amazing energy; I was smiling from ear to ear the entire time! They were so thrilled to have Sabrina back as a teacher, and in no time they warmly welcomed me into their group!

We wasted no time and got to warming up, and moving our bodies! The girls then ran through a dance they previously leaned, and I was so impressed! At the end of class we started to learn a new dance together as a group, and I was so blown away by everyone’s individual ability to remember and recall choreography! This is something that I myself struggle with!

The participants in Wednesday night’s class came in on time, prepared, and were ready to learn and have fun together. The time flew by because we were all having such a great time together.

The genuine joy and happiness I have witnessed in our first class together has really touched my heart. I am beyond grateful and extremely excited to work with these dancers for the rest of the season! We are going to do some incredible things together…I just know it!”

Get ready to sway, twirl, and groove your way to fitness with Sabrina and Rachel leading the way. Adult Dance is not just a workout—it’s a celebration of movement, joy, and community. Lace up those dancing shoes, and let’s dance into wellness together!
