GiGi’s 5k & Buddy Walk

Team “Kelsey Girl”

On August 9, 2010 at 6:00 a.m. a 7lb baby girl was laid in my arms. The nurses commented how special those numbers were. Everyone was unaware of another number that was going to become special. When I looked in her eyes I knew she had Down syndrome (Trisomy-21). Not only did she have Down syndrome she had a heart defect that required open heart surgery at 6 months old.  Kelsey has shown us what real happiness and joy is. She has accomplished so much in 3 years and I truly believe the sky is the limit for her. I hope she will follow her dreams and not be limited as to what others perceive as her disability. I know she is going to have a world full of possibility, love, friendship and dancing-lots of dancing!
