Volunteer Spotlight – Marcus and Katie!
Moving right along in our Volunteer Appreciation Month, we have the incredible team of Marcus and Katie! These two incredible people have been our LMNOP assists for the past three years. We love and appreciate the time and energy they spend by helping make LMNOP one of our most popular programs.
Amanda, our LMNOP Lead, shares, “They help our LMNOP program thrive! They have continued to grow in their roles as LMNOP assists. They go above and beyond to make sure class goes off without a hitch, whether it’s developing ideas for the lesson plan, researching and managing supplies, walking new volunteers through the program, or diving right into the best part of all – working with our families, all while demonstrating the skills we are practicing that day! Marcus and Katie sing and sign along with the group, often catching the eyes and attention of our participants!
They always show up with smiles, excited to watch what our littlest friends are going to achieve. AND you can see in the small ways (like wearing a floral shirt for our flowers class!) the thought and care they have for the program and the families. All of this shows just how special they truly are, making LMNOP an exceptional program! Thank you for all you do, Marcus and Katie!”
We asked Katie and Marcus to share how they learned about GiGi’s Playhouse and what the Playhouse means to them! “We discovered GiGi’s through Brian Kilbane, who grew up next door to Katie’s dad and has been a lifelong friend of the family. Since the first day of volunteer orientation, we knew LMNOP was something special we wanted to be a part of, and 3 years later it’s still such an important part of our lives. We look forward to it every month and have watched our kiddos develop their communication skills, learn new signs and have a blast doing it! Amanda is amazing and puts her heart into every activity we do and every song we sing. We are so blessed to be a part of the GiGi’s family!”
Congratulations to the newlyweds, too! They tied the knot on September 4, 2021!
So proud of Marcus and Katie Riley.
They are two incredible human beings!
They have such caring hearts and are always looking for ways to share their jest for life with others.
Marcus and Katie, thank you for all you do for Gigi’s!
God Bless
