Advisory Board
GiGi’s Playhouse Cleveland’s Advisory Board is a group of dedicated professionals and community leaders who offer expert guidance to support our mission. With backgrounds in fields such as education, healthcare, law, business, and advocacy, members bring valuable insight and a shared commitment to individuals with Down syndrome. Serving on a flexible, low-commitment basis, the Advisory Board meets biannually and consults as needed to advise on strategic initiatives, community partnerships, and program growth. While not involved in daily operations or formal governance, members play a vital role in shaping the Playhouse’s impact through their expertise and passion for inclusion.
Mary Trepanier-Street
Mary Trepanier-Street, Ed.D., is a retired Professor of Early Childhood Education from the University of Michigan-Dearborn. She taught child development, early childhood, and young children with varied abilities. Mary also served as the Director of the UM-D Early Childhood Center, a childcare, teacher preparation and research center. Mary is/was the proud sister of a brother with Down syndrome.
Anne Trepanier
Anne Marie Trepanier, PT, MPH has worked with individuals with developmental disabilities and their families throughout their lifespan. Anne Marie earned her BS in PT at The Ohio State University and a Master’s in Public Health from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Anne Marie has worked in a variety of settings, including a rehab program with the Peace Corps, early intervention program in rural North Carolina, and clinical settings in Cleveland and Lakewood. Over the past 25 years, Anne Marie has worked with the Cuyahoga County Board of Developmental Disabilities supporting school age children and adults with developmental disabilities to optimize their independence and involvement in the community. Anne Marie has presented on the topic of Aging with a Disability and has a special interest in Aging with Down Syndrome, rooted in life experiences with her brother, Gerard. Anne Marie is excited to be a part of the GiGi’s Playhouse Cleveland community and interested in exploring ways to involve and support older individuals with Down syndrome.
Barbara Bagdonas
Barbara Bagdonas, RN is a highly experienced healthcare professional with over 30 years in nursing and dementia care. As co-writer of the dementia training course "Alzheimer’s Disease: The PERSON Makes the Difference", Barbara has been dedicated to advancing dementia care and supporting professional development.
She has held leadership roles, including Director of Nursing and Director of Dementia Services at Heather Hill Hospital. Barbara’s career spans various positions in care centers, where she has overseen dementia care programs, staff training, and clinical management.
Barbara was an RN, holds an associate's in science and a bachelor's in health services management (magna cum laude) and was board certified as a Gerontological Nurse. She has also received advanced training in Dementia Care Mapping and numerous professional certifications.
An active presenter, Barbara has spoken at national and international conferences, sharing her expertise on dementia care. She has a strong commitment to training, having conducted numerous classes and workshops to equip healthcare professionals in delivering high-quality care.
Through her extensive leadership, training, and advocacy efforts, Barbara has been a dedicated force in advancing the quality of dementia care.
Dr. Cole Galloway
Cole Galloway PT, PhD supports children and adult community mobility through his research as a Professor at Baylor University and through his service with Go Baby Go.
His Cleveland based research and design studio studies the impact of community programs ranging from infant play groups (including those at GiGi’s!) through rehab-vocational environments for adults after brain injury.
Andrina Sabet
Andrina Sabet is a physical therapist of 30 years who is currently the owner of her private practice Mobility Matters, LLC and is also employed at the Cleveland Clinic Children’s Hospital for Rehabilitation. Her clinical practice at CCCHR includes infants and toddlers through young adults in the Mobility and Seating Clinic, where independent mobility options are a focus for every client. She is actively involved with Go Baby Go, a grassroots, open-source movement centered on social mobility opportunities and technological innovation as both National Projects Coordinator and as a clinical researcher. Andrina has presented locally, nationally and internationally on the intersection of development, mobility, and positioning in kids, families and communities. Andrina is excited to join the Advisory Board at GiGi’s playhouse where she has so much love and respect for the participants, families and staff as well as the mission of achievement and acceptance.
Dr. Carl Tyler, MD
Carl V. Tyler, Jr., MD, MSc, was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio. After one-year post-graduate study in psychiatry, he completed 3-year family medicine residency, then practiced in a small group family medicine practice for nearly a decade, where he became interested in the health care needs of vulnerable populations, particularly the elderly and adults with developmental disabilities.
He completed a fellowship with a master's degree in academic family medicine at Case Western Reserve University with a focus on medical education in clinical geriatrics and developmental disabilities medicine. He then completed an NIH-sponsored 3-year fellowship in Practice-Based Research Design and Methodology at Case Western Reserve University.
In addition to board certification as a family physician, Dr. Tyler has a Certificate of Added Qualifications in Geriatrics and is a Certified Medical Director in Long-term Care (CMD). As Director of Geriatric Education at the Cleveland Clinic Family Medicine Residency, he has curricular responsibility for training family medicine residents in the primary care of elders in ambulatory, long-term and home-care settings. He also enjoys teaching a seminar in evidence-based medicine. He also teaches medical students and resident physicians about providing primary care to persons with developmental disabilities. As a fellowship-trained researcher, he assists resident physicians and faculty in conducting their scholarly work.
Jeanne Mullin
Jeanne Mullin is an experienced trial attorney with over 20 years of experience and serves as the co-managing partner of the Cleveland office of Perez Morris, a Columbus, Ohio based women owned law firm. Jeanne’s practice is focused mainly on the defense of medical and professional negligence cases. She also serves as chair of the firm's Medical Malpractice Group.
Jeanne and her husband have five children. Their third son, Nicholas, has Down syndrome. Jeanne has served on the Board of Managers and was part of the founding team that launched GiGi’s Playhouse Cleveland in 2015.
