Volunteer Spotlight – Emily

Emily joined us in October of 2019 and quickly committed to our volunteer team as the GiGiFIT Adult Assist. After the pandemic hit and we planned to reopen our doors for in-person tutoring, Emily stepped up to the plate and volunteered her time as a literacy tutor. We are incredibly thankful for all of her time and energy she spends devoted to our mission. Emily, thank you for being a beautiful example of Generation G!

Emily shares, “When I began volunteering at GiGi’s Playhouse last year I went in with the hope to make a positive impact on the lives of others, but what I didn’t realize was that the amazing participants were instead going to make that impact on me. From the moment I first walked in the door at GiGi’s, I was overwhelmed with the laughter, hugs and acceptance shared. I volunteer with GiGi’s because I stand behind the message of Generation G and celebrate inclusion and acceptance of others. I am always so proud of the progress made by my friends but more than that, I am so proud of the amazing people they are and am lucky to know each and every one of them.”
