Our Volunteer of the Year for 2018 is…

We are beyond grateful for the 120+ volunteers who gave of their time and energy at GiGi’s Playhouse Cleveland this year. Thank you to everyone who came to our volunteer appreciation dinner!

We are proud to announce our 2018 Volunteer of the Year!

This deserving person has invested their days into this Playhouse and this mission. The hours that she pours into her volunteer work easily total over 20 hours a month. In addition to going back to school and earning her Master’s as a Transition Specialist to help launch (in the near future!) our GiGi University, this amazing woman also runs our high quality, outcome-driven programs from behind the scenes. After she sends her four children off to school, she finds time to communicate with the families and the volunteers of each program either by phone or email, keeps track of who has RSVP’d, and then communicates with our Leads, all before leaving to head to work for the night. She handles every text, call or email I send her way, regardless of the time of day…or night! She does the grocery shopping each week for TEAM (our nutrition/fitness program), in addition to coming in each Wednesday night to help run it. She goes above and beyond the call of duty, in addition to living out the message of Generation G in her community, her family, and at work. She’s the only one in the world with a Generation G tattoo (for now!) and her passion and work ethic is second to none. Her motivator? Her handsome, determined son – Will.

Congratulations to our 2018 Volunteer of the Year – our Program Coordinator – Dawn Shivey!
