Meet Maureen!

Maureen in our new Playhouse Host – She volunteers her time to cover the Playhouse when Megan is unable to be there and enjoys welcoming our families, supporting our volunteers, giving tours, and assisting with programs taking place.

A little about Maureen:

“I am a wife, mother, grandmother, and volunteer. I went to Malone college, and I have been retired since 2020 from Mercy Medical Center/Cleveland Clinic after 26 years as a medical coder and lab employee. Prior to Mercy Medical, I worked for Perry Schools for 10 years. Family and faith have always been priority to me. I have 2 (grown) children, Eddi and Amaris, who have given me six wonderful grandchildren. My husband and I have been married 50 years this February.

My interests are boating, traveling, and most of all spending time with family. I have worked with children with Down syndrome since I was 16. My cousin had Down syndrome as well as my next door neighbor presently. We also fostered a child with special needs from ages 8-13.   My daughter knew I wanted to volunteer and she thought GiGi’s was a perfect fit for me and she was right. She taught Stark State OTA clinicals at GiGi’s and that is how I found out about the volunteer need.”

Help us welcome Maureen by visiting the Playhouse on Tuesday, April 25th! Maureen will be there all day to cover the during operating hours and would love to meet our families and volunteers!
