Playhouse Inspiration: Small Business, Big Heart

Liberty Green Quilt Shop, formerly known as JEllen’s house of fabric, is an award-winning contemporary quilting boutique & “sewcial” lounge designed to tingle the heart and inspire your creative soul.

Liberty Green Quilt Shop is owned and operated by Joyce Ely, parent and strong advocate for her adult daughter, Sarah, who has Down syndrome. Sarah has participated in GiGi’s Playhouse programming, has a talent for making her mug rugs, and has even made baby blankets to share in our celebration baskets for new families.

Sarah and Joyce chose to stock their sample racks, comprised of quilts that were once used for display, and sell them to give the proceeds to GiGi’s Playhouse Canton for Down syndrome support. In December, they raised a total of $920, and in January they sold a total of 25 quilts for another $975!

Thank you so much Joyce and Sarah, and thank you all who contributed by purchasing their quilts! Liberty Green shared they will continue to keep the sample racks fully stocked and will continue to donate 100% of the sales to GiGi’s Playhouse Canton.
