GiGiFIT Acceptance Challenge Team Spotlight: Norah’s Narwhals: Celebrating Love, Inclusion, and Strength

The GiGiFIT Acceptance Challenge is a physical and social MOVEment for acceptance! Our goal is to globally unite 1 million supporters of the Down syndrome community to say “We can and will accept you as you are!” Our Atlanta families and friends create teams to raise funds and spread awareness and then join us at Grant Park on Saturday, March 29 to run a 5K, 1 Mile, or Dash to MOVE for acceptance! Every team has a story, and today, we are honored to share the journey of Norah’s Narwhals, a team dedicated to celebrating Norah Amayo—a vibrant, compassionate, and determined 11-year-old with Down syndrome.

Giving Our Best Every Day
For Norah’s family, giving their “Best of All” means leading with love, embracing fun, fostering communication, and including others. It’s about growing, persevering, and making each day meaningful.

A Safe Space for Community
While they don’t have just one favorite program, what matters most to Norah’s family is the safe space GiGi’s Playhouse provides—a place where friendships flourish, confidence soars, and lifelong support is built.

Acceptance in Action
Norah and her family practice acceptance by truly listening, believing in others, and offering support without fear or judgment. It’s a simple yet powerful approach that makes a lasting impact on their community.

The Joy of Norah
Norah is a bright light, always noticing and uplifting those around her. She is a nurturer at heart, whether she’s singing, dancing, playing Uno, or giving her all on the soccer field. Her love for bagels is unmatched, and her presence is a gift to her family and everyone she meets.

The Impact of GiGi’s Playhouse
For Norah’s family, GiGi’s Playhouse has been instrumental in her development and confidence. It’s a place where she is valued, included, and celebrated—just as every person deserves to be.

With Norah’s Narwhals leading the way, we are reminded of the power of love, inclusion, and perseverance. Thank you for sharing your journey and inspiring us all!
