All Ages

Destination Discovery

Play = Fun + Learning  Destination Discovery supports the development of fine motor skills, gross motor skills, social skills and language through purposeful play and peer to peer interaction in a casual and fun setting. This program also brings families together to share experiences and build relationships.   Recommended for All Ages.

Midtown This theme based program has plenty of fun activities to be completed.  We meet on the 2nd Saturday of the month from 11 to 12 PM.
Roswell This theme based program has plenty of fun activities to be completed. The theme is tied into seasons and holidays. We meet on the 4th Saturday of the month from 10:30 to 12:30 PM.

Handwriting 1-on-1

Participants will use the Handwriting Without Tears Curriculum to improve handwriting skill including: Physical Approaches and Skill Development, Letter Skills, Word Skills, Sentence Skills, and Writing Conventions. Participants will use a multisensory approach (visual, tactile, auditory and kinesthetic) to learn and practice letter formation to create words, sentences and stories.

Cooking Club

Get cooking with your friends at GiGi’s! This program is geared towards building safety awareness in the kitchen, preparing healthy meals that taste great.

Midtown Join us as we explore the world through food.
Learning your way around a Kitchen can be fun! Cooking safely can be so enjoyable! 
But, eating healthy can be soooo yummy!
We meet on the 4th Saturday of each month from 2:30 to 4, so come on down and try new foods and make new friends!
Roswell Join us for cooking club as we learn to make plenty of healthy snacks!We meet on the 2nd Saturday of the month from 12:00 to 1:15.

Dance

Introduces basic dance styles, techniques and movements to participants while improving gross motor skills, increasing mental and muscle memory and increasing cardiovascular conditioning, strength, flexibility and coordination.

Midtown Darby 's Dance at GiGi's Playhouse Midtown is for participants 8+. We meet every Tuesday from 5:30 to 6:30 at Daza Dance Studio on Peachtree.We are working hard to learn our dance to be preformed at our annual Gala on April 24, 2020!
Roswell We have two great groups in Roswell!Platinum Crew is for Ages 11 to 20 yrs. and meets monthly on roughly the 1st Thursday of the month from 5:30 to 6:30.Platinum Pals is for our 4 to 10 year old’s! We meet monthly on the 2nd Saturday of the month from 1:30 to 2:30. Held at Platinum Dance Studio, in the same center as GiGi’s Playhouse Roswell.Be sure to check our calendar for any changes.

Family Speaker

Focuses on topics that help your loved one, allows for time to listen, learn, ask questions and network. Do you have a topic you want to hear more about, let us know.

Midtown Sheryl Arno leads a self-advocacy workshop for adults that meets monthly, typically on the first Tuesday of the month.Family Speaker Series: Expert speakers share their wisdom quarterly.Hosted in partnership with DSAA. Check or calendar and DSAA site regularly for the next guest speaker.

Karate Kickers

Focuses on the development of balance, coordination, discipline, focus, attention, wellness and confidence through the basic foundational movements of karate and martial arts. Recommended for ages 8-12, 13-17, 18+.

Midtown We learn the Brazilian martial art of Capoeira, taught by Master Murial of CDO Atlanta on the 1st Saturday of the month from 1:30 to 2:30 in Midtown. We are looking for the next participant that can train to be an instructor (can you say hard work, great reward).
Roswell We learn the Brazilian martial art of Capoeira, taught by Master Murial of CDO Atlanta on the 4th Saturday of the month from 1:30 to 2:30.

Literacy

The One-on-One Literacy tutoring program for individuals with Down syndrome provides instruction based on the interests and inspirations of each student. The Literacy tutoring program supports the increase of sight word recognition, vocabulary, comprehension, articulation, self-esteem, speech clarity and fine motor skills. Our trained tutors provide motivating and purposeful lessons designed to keep our students engaged and learning both during sessions and when extending activities at home. Recommended for ages 3+.

We will do our best to find the perfect tutor to help your child to develop their reading skills.Project Read:Midtown also offers a group literacy program provided by our wonderful Emory volunteers. Project Read meets Sundays from 12 to 1:30 pm, check calendar for the schedule. Ages 4+
Roswell You select the day and time and we work to find you the perfect literacy tutor!

Math

The One-on-One Math tutoring program uses a multi-sensory, strength-based approach to build confidence and success for our students. The Math tutoring program supports the increase of the range of math skills, self-esteem, confidence, critical thinking, problem solving skills, independence and autonomy, and fine motor skills. Our research-based curriculum encompasses a variety of strategies and techniques to ensure that every student can be successful when learning math. Recommended for ages 3+.

Tap into your inner rock star where every voice shines!  Music supports the increase of self-confidence, social skills, communication and motor skills.

Midtown Music Therapy hosted by Bloom in Music. We meet once a month on Saturday from 10:30 to 11:30.Check calendar for dates.

Mom's Night

Moms, Grandmothers, Aunts and Sisters are invited to play, network and connect with one another in a fun and active program.

Open Play

Promotes positive beginnings for new families, creates awareness opportunities for peers and friends while allowing families to network and support one another. Come ready for fun and a crazy good time! Open to all families of all ages.

Midtown The playhouse is yours so make your next play date a GiGi's date! Practice social, behavioral, fine and gross motor skills.
Roswell This is your playhouse so schedule a play date with us. You are welcome to use the playhouse during unscheduled open hours .

Yoga

Helps your child develop healthy habits for a lifetime of wellness and happiness. Yoga gives children a practice and routine that integrates physical, mental and emotional development. Yoga program will help your child develop more personal awareness and learn specific strategies to maintain focus and manage their emotions and impulses.

Roswell We meet Saturdays (1/25, 2/22, 4/25, 5/16) from 1:30 to 2:30 PM.

Early Learners (0-4)

LMNOP

Language Music N' Our Peeps (LMNOP) is an interactive and engaging program designed to guide parents and young children through learning basic sign language and other forms of communication while using music and language-based activities. Recommended for ages pre-natal to 36 months.

Midtown Join us in 2020 on the first Saturday of the month at 10 am for this early communication program, led by out wonderful volunteer SLP Molly! We do start however on 1/11/20!
Roswell

Crawlers and Walkers

Focuses on the development of gross and fine motor skills through activities that are hands-on and fun! Social skills and language development will also be addressed, with focus on learning new words, following directions and interacting with peers. Recommended for ages 1-4.

Midtown Meet our wonderful volunteer therapist Gretchen Lehane (PT), Cathy Shepherd (OT), Gail Nuse (SLP), and Marti Blincoe (PT).  We meet every Thursday morning from 10:30 to 12 PM and we would love to have you join us!
Roswell To facilitate and strengthen gross motor skills in children who are working toward achieving the developmental stage of crawling and learning to walk without support while receiving free Physical Therapy from our wonderful volunteer Rene Maddox, owner of Big Gym Therapy. We meet every Monday morning from 11 to 12 PM.

Leaps & Bounds

Leaps & Bounds is a play-based program for children ages 3-5 that focuses on success in preschool and kindergarten. Students will participate in fun and engaging activities that provide opportunities for following routines, small group participation, movement and interaction with their environment. Family members are key participants in this program and will encourage their child to reach his or her Best of All throughout each session.  Recommended for ages 3-5 year olds.

Midtown This program will meet starting 1/11 at 11 am and introduce your child to the world of school.

2 and Under

The perfect place to meet new friends, learn and grow, while parents have the opportunity to socialize and network with one another. Recommended for ages pre-natal to 2 years old.

GiGiFIT Toddler

GiGiFIT Toddler includes foundational, vestibular and targeted mobility movements, reflex integration and control. We have taken these movements and concepts to the next level in a fast-paced, super fun and socially interactive atmosphere for young children who have recently mastered the ability to walk on their own. Recommended for walking to 4 year olds.

Kindergarten Prep

Transforms learning into a walk of discovery, offering safe and exciting opportunities at every turn while preparing your child for kindergarten. Recommended for ages 4-6.

Roswell New for 2020! This program helps prepping your child for Kindergarten. We will meet Saturday (1/25, 2/22, 3/14, 4/25, 5/16) from 9 to 10:30 AM. 4-6 yr oldsWe will work on literacy, turn taking, moving from station to station and more!

School Age Learners (5-12)

Kids Club

Supports the development of social skills and language through peer to peer interaction in a casual and fun setting. This program will also support gross motor skills through active games, fine motor and self-help skills through meal/snack preparation and activities. Recommended for 8-12 year-olds.

Midtown Kids Club is for 8 to 12 year old and we will be working on our social and communication skills through board games! Join us starting 1/18 from 12 to 1 pm.

GiGiFIT Kids

GiGiFIT Kids combines key movements from GiGiFIT Teen and advanced progressions of activities from GiGiFIT Toddler to help improve strength, balance, coordination, peer interaction and to build a lifelong love of physical activity. GiGiFIT Kids is not just purposeful play it is our special work out-time to make you stronger , faster, more coordinated and kids say "I love this fun, structured, purposeful movements". Recommended for 5-12 year olds.

Midtown New for 2020, starting January 18, 2020, Nicki Berne will be leading 5 to 12 yr old's towards healthy living! We will meet monthly (1/18, 2/8, 3/14, 4/11 and 5/9) and work on new exercise skills and go over our monthly fitness goals.

GiGi’s Kitchen Kids

GiGi’s Kitchen is designed to emphasize the importance of health and wellness through nutrition education, kitchen safety, food preparation, social activities and a shared meal/snack. Under the guidance of program leaders, participants will learn about and progress through skills including measurements, food handling, knife skills, ingredient identification, palette expansion, and nutrition. Participants will be introduced to various cooking techniques. GiGi’s Kitchen program will build participants self-esteem and self-confidence through nutrition and wellness!  This program is recommended for ages 5-12.

Teen Tastic

Focuses on building social skills with friends with and without Down syndrome by participating in team-based activities in a casual and fun setting. Skill development includes understanding compromise, turn-taking and problem-solving abilities.

GiGiFIT Teen

GiGi Prep

The GiGi Prep program has an emphasis on building communication skills, money management, customer service skills, team building, health and wellness over a 10-week session made up of 2-days per week instructional learning. This program is an application based program with high expectations to motivate adults with Down syndrome. Recommended for Adults 18+.

GiGiFIT Infant

In GiGiFIT Infant we are making movement fun! We introduce the concepts of foundational movements, mobility, visual-vestibular, and reflex integration activities. In a fun environment we are purposefully progressing on improving areas of fitness through activities in strength, endurance, joint stability, balance, movement control and more.  Recommended for infant to pre-walking.
 

Speech & Language 1-on-1

The GiGi's Amina Grace One-on-One Speech & Language program provides youth, teens and adults with greatly expanded opportunities to evolve and refine their speech and language skills This program supports the increase of clarity of speech and enunciation, word order and message meaning and comprehension which benefits self-confidence, school and social readiness and Increased independence and overall quality of life. Recommended for All Ages.

Playhouse Pals

Supports the development of social skills and language through peer to peer interaction in a casual and fun setting. This program also supports gross motor skills through active games, as well as fine motor skills & self-help skills. Recommended for 5-8 year olds.

GiGi Professional

Whether it’s an office, retail environment, a design studio or a production space, GiGi’s career internship programs build on the skills learned in GiGi U with practical applications and the achievement of certifications. During each individual with Down syndromes 13-week internship they will purposefully progress through certifications learning and demonstrating strengths and interests in transferable job skills, building their resume for placement in a job or volunteer position in the community. Pre-req: GiGi U. Recommended for Adults 18+.

Studio Cafe

A comprehensive and progressive learning program tailored specifically for adults with Down syndrome comprised of a 15-week session made up of 3-days per week instructional program. GiGi U is designed for motivated adults with Down syndrome to achieve their highest potential in the real world while developing their abilities in the areas of wellness, communication and career skills with emphasis on job interviewing, communication skills, money management, public speaking, customer service, computer skills, team building and health.   Recommended for Adults 18+.

GiGiFIT You & I

During GiGiFIT You & I the #1 goal is to foster relationships and develop a positive community among caregivers. The fact that we are adding movement is a bonuswith a focus on sneaky physical therapy to improve joint stability, strength, endurance, balance and coordination. We have introduced the concepts of GiGiFIT Adult and GiGiFIT Infant to caregivers of infants with Down syndrome. Recommended for Moms, Dads, Grandparents, Caregivers and their newborn.
