Celebrating Milestones and Looking Ahead: A New Chapter at the Playhouse

On January 6, 2024, the doors to our new and improved Playhouse officially opened! This moment marked a significant milestone in our journey, one that wouldn’t have been possible without the unwavering support of our incredible community.

Over the past year, we’ve been hard at work fundraising, planning, and constructing to bring our vision to life. And now, as we stand in our revitalized space, we are filled with gratitude for each and every one of you who has contributed to this achievement.

As we reflect on the progress we’ve made, it’s inspiring to see how far we’ve come. This year alone, we’ve introduced several new programs and initiatives aimed at enriching the lives of our patrons. From GiGiFIT for ages 8-18 to monthly Zumba classes, expanded art, music, and career building offerings, we’ve been dedicated to providing diverse opportunities for growth, learning, and fun.

But our commitment to inclusivity doesn’t stop there. We’ve also opened our doors for Open Play sessions, welcoming homeschool students, after-school attendees, and anyone else who wants to experience the joy of our inclusive environment. It’s been heartwarming to see our Playhouse bustling with activity and laughter, creating memories and fostering connections among our community members.

As we embark on Phase 2 of our expansion project, we’re filled with excitement for what lies ahead. With plans for a designated therapy play area, meeting space, technology lab, and renovated kitchen, we’re gearing up to further enhance the experiences and resources available at our Playhouse. These new additions will enable us to better serve the evolving needs of our Down syndrome community and continue making a positive impact on the lives of those we reach.

None of this would be possible without the dedication and support of our volunteers, donors, staff, and patrons. Your belief in our mission fuels our passion and drives us forward, propelling us toward even greater heights. To celebrate, we will be hosting a Grand Re-Opening on Sunday, April 21!
