2024 Board Strategic Retreat

As the new year unfolds, GiGi’s Atlanta is gearing up for our best year ever guided by a recently concluded strategic planning retreat. On Saturday, January 20, the Board and Staff met to discuss and plan goals for 2024, standards of execution, risk management, and the exciting lineup of fundraising events set to unfold throughout the year! Get ready for an announcement for our Grand Re-Opening Celebration coming soon!! Goals were set to enhance the organization’s impact, expand our reach, and continually improve the quality of services provided to the Down syndrome community.

Our Board welcomed four new members to better serve our ever-expanding number of families: Michael Dunn, Ainsley Gatlin, Cindi Livingston, and Yvette Norwood. These new board members stand ready to contribute their time, energy, and expertise to drive GiGi’s Atlanta towards even greater heights. The heartfelt connection they share as parents of individuals with Down syndrome adds an extra layer of authenticity and empathy to their strategic planning efforts, ensuring that our goals for the upcoming year are not only ambitious but deeply rooted in the real-life experiences of the families we serve. We also said our goodbyes to our Past President, Marnie Plaia, who has rolled off the Board to relocate to Jacksonville, FL. We are immensely grateful for her time and energy put into our Playhouse and know she is rooting for us from FL!

Our Atlanta team immediately bonded and made what could have been a dull and tedious event into a fun filled, laughter fueled collaboration and genuine connection. GiGi’s Playhouse has a magic power, breaking down the walls of formality and creating friendships in a working environment.

With shared goals and visions for GiGi’s Playhouse Atlanta, your 2024 Board of Directors is ready to serve!
