Kennedy’s First week of school!

Kennedy started Kindergarten. She turned 5 on July 28th and walked into her class on August 5th. We had a 3 hour IEP meeting that went extremely well. I think it went as well as it did because Karla, her other mom, worked so hard to make sure we had the right expectations along with all participants having the right expectation as well. We are so happy with her class. She has 13 other students and 2 teachers. She will have a para for a couple of hours a day and we will re-visit her needs in a few weeks. She loves going to school and is absolutely exhausted when she gets home everyday.
Since starting, only 6 school days ago, she is writing her numbers, she actually has some site words and is focusing more than ever for longer periods of time. Her speech is exploding and we know that she has had all of this inside of her but this environment has really brought it out.

Yeah Kennedy

Super Job Kennedy!!!
We would love to share other great stories of success and inspiration as well, just send them to the Playhouse.
