Meet Stephanie!

  • Stephanie has been volunteering at GiGi’s Playhouse since 2019!
  • She is the proud mother of 5, has enjoyed her 8 grandchildren with her husband Gary and by the time you’re reading this, the first great grandbaby will probably be born!
  • Outside of GiGi’s she likes to read, sew, and garden.
  • Before GiGi’s she was a certified BOCES special education teacher, teaching 4–21-year-olds, not all at the same time, of course!
  • She began volunteering because she missed her student after she retired.
  • When asked what she loved about GiGi’s, she had a lot of great answers – “How positive it is!” – “The hugs!”-“The genuine empathy I see in the adults towards each other.” –  “And the progress in the participants that I see.”
  •  She also said, “After working so hard as a teacher, it’s nice to see the positive impact that type of work can have.”
  • When asked what would you say to someone considering volunteering? Absolutely, do it!
