“When I think about GiGi’s and their events I want to shout “support them” using every outlet I have. I want to stick up for their mission and back their beliefs. I want to count all the ways that they saved our little family and I want you to believe in them the way they believe in every single person who has Down syndrome…

….but the bottom line is if you know me, you know all of this already. You’ve seen me dedicate countless blog posts to everything GiGi’s. You’ve seen how they do something to me; how their kindness makes me bubble up with goosebumps and good feels. You know how I accredit them for being everything good and right in this world and how I could go on and on bragging about how I am so lucky to be a part of it all.
This is why I decided to walk for something else this year. This year we will not walk for what GiGi’s means to us but we will walk in solidarity with them and for who they represent.

13307239_10154213444742481_8313322662341698720_nWe will walk for inclusion, and to help spread the word to end the “R” word. We will walk to help educate the many who are scared of what they do not know and to disarm the misconceptions about having a baby with Down syndrome. We will walk to help others understand how people with Down syndrome should not be limited and that they are more alike us than different. We will walk to help them have a rightful place in this world. We will walk to get littles adopted, for a fair college education, for job opportunities and to end discrimination towards the largest group of minorities in our country; those with special needs. This year we walk for all the people out there with something extra…extra love to bring into this world, extra slow but sweeter milestones, and an extra copy of the 21st chromosome.

If you believe in being an inspiration, if you believe in love and if you believe in Judah and others like him, then walk with us. We can’t promise it’ll change the world but we can promise it’ll change your heart!!”
