Amy’s Journey with GiGi’s Playhouse

Amy has been part of GiGi’s Playhouse since the very beginning. When the doors first opened, her mom found the Playhouse, and it quickly became a second home for Amy—a place full of friendship, growth, and opportunity.
Over the years, Amy has participated in many programs, including GiGiFIT, GiGi Kitchen, Fantastic Friends, and the Gratitude Committee. She has also stepped into a leadership role as a board member, where she’s found joy in helping shape the future of the Playhouse and being more involved with kids and families who come through the doors.
Some of Amy’s favorite memories come from big events. At the annual Gala, Amy had the chance to give a speech—something that became one of the highlights of her life. Dressed up and ready to share her story, she spoke confidently in front of the crowd and felt proud to represent the Playhouse. Another special memory was the 321 event at Destiny USA, where she greeted people, shared information, and spread the word about the mission of GiGi’s. Amy is always the first to volunteer when the Playhouse needs support, and she enjoys telling others about what makes it such a special place. Additionally, Amy went on the Bridge Street news segment and shared information about GiGi’s. She is anxiously waiting for her next opportunity to appear!

Being on the board has been an especially meaningful experience for Amy. It’s not just a title—it’s an honor. Serving on the board has given her a sense of pride and confidence, helping her come out of her shell and discover her voice. She loves the idea of giving tours and showing visitors how welcoming and unique the Playhouse is. To Amy, GiGi’s is more than just a building—it’s a community where she feels comfortable, supported, and free to be herself.
Through GiGi’s, Amy has gained so much: lifelong friends, the confidence to speak in front of others, and the pride of being a leader. She dreams of more galas and dances in the future and hopes more people will discover the joy and belonging the Playhouse offers.
When asked why GiGi’s Playhouse is so important to her, Amy sums it up beautifully: “It’s a place where I can spend time with friends and learn new things.”
