I LOVE watching our amazing friends learn, grow and become more confident in their social skills!”

Our September volunteer spotlight goes to two incredible ladies. Maddie and Gretchen who co-led 21STARS our after school program which focuses on social skills, gratitude committee and literacy/math components. During this program they are able to witness growth, friendships, ability and confidence through the activities they design. Maddie is now a freshman at Clemson and Gretchen is a junior at Holly Springs High. When asked why they volunteer, both gave answers that represent our Generation G mindset.

Gretchen “ I volunteer at GiGi’s Playhouse because it is a place apart where everyone is happy & full of life. I chose to lead 21STARS, because I LOVE watching our amazing friends learn, grow and become more confident in their social skills!”

Maddie– “At GiGi’s, I have the privilege of collaborating with my friends to support our friends with Down syndrome. I found GiGi’s Playhouse by chance, and started volunteering because I was asked to, but the positive and welcoming attitudes of the community at GiGi’s immediately drew me in. This is just fun”
