Volunteer or Participant?

Volunteer or Participant?

Who says you have to be one or the other?

We have GREAT volunteers here at GiGi’s and we’re always looking for more. Some of our best volunteers are family members but we LOVE it when our adult participants step up to help. Please meet Michael! He is a participant in our Fantastic Friends program and has completed GiGi Prep. He is also a volunteer!!

Michael recently volunteered to sell 50/50 tickets at car shows, serve food and beverages at the John Deere Classic concession stand, and help with cleaning and office work at the Playhouse. He even helped the younger participants at our St Patrick’s Day party this past spring. It’s great to have Michael as a volunteer here at the Playhouse and out at community events. We hope to see more of our adult participants in a volunteer role. We would especially like to have them help with programs, parties, and events for our younger participants.

Michael is planning to participate in the upcoming Superhero Run/Walk. He already has his team all set up (Mighty 3.21 Power Team Morley) and is actively recruiting participants and donations including issuing a challenge to his brother and his brother’s racing teammates. We can’t wait to see how the challenge turns out. Michael’s family has also facilitated a donation of tickets to the Chicago Motor Speedway for two races being held this fall. We will be holding a donation contest online to give those tickets away to two lucky winners. Visit our Facebook page to learn more about that!

Thank you, Michael, and family for volunteering, participating, and supporting the Playhouse. We’re lucky to have you!
