Thankful for Interns

If you have been around the Playhouse this fall there’s a good chance you may have seen and/or met one of these wonderful ladies. They are both interns from Augustana College here this fall. We asked both of them to give us a short bio and photo to share with all of you.

Hello! My name is Calista, and I am serving as a Speech-Language Pathology Student Intern at GiGi’s Playhouse this school year. I am currently a Senior at Augustana majoring in Communication Sciences and Disorders and minoring in Sociology and Anthropology. I am a lifeguard and swim instructor at the Two Rivers YMCA. I currently live in Rock Island with my fiancé and we are expecting our first child in April of 2024. During my free time, I enjoy crocheting, reading, watching movies, hanging out with friends, and eating food.

Hello! My name is Maggie Kotowski from Chicago, Illinois.  I am a senior at Augustana College majoring in psychology and minoring in art. I have been helping to run the Yoga and Dance programs which has been an immensely fulfilling experience. Watching everyone work together to achieve their goals and support each other so lovingly has been amazing.

I am looking forward to further being able to support the GiGi’s Playhouse community in any way that I can. I hope I can learn from the community how to be unconditionally loving and keep creating magical moments.

We have thoroughly enjoyed having both of them here with us this fall and hope that they will come back once their internships are completed. We thank them both for all they have done!

As a 99% volunteer-run organization volunteers are the heart of what we do but when we can make that align with the local colleges and their students’ learning experiences it makes it even more meaningful.
