September 2025 Best of All
The highlights below are just a few of the #bestofall moments we witnessed during September.
Participant & Program Best of All
Our Fantastic Friends and Teen Tastic participants were able to get out in our community and go mini golfing at Valley Falls Adventure Golf in Coal Valley, IL. Two participants, Daniel and Jacob, got to golf with our Executive Director, Nate. They all had a wonderful time and gave it their “Best of All” with each of them being able to mark down a hole-in-one on their scorecard!

On October 24th, our Fantastic Friends and Teen Tastic groups are heading to ComedySportz Quad Cities for a fun night of competitive improv comedy. Visit the calendar to register!
Volunteer Spotlight
September saw the launch of Destination Discovery: Robotics for our teen participants. The two Pleasant Valley High School Robotics Teams, Deviation from the Norm and No Limit, have been awesome in leading the program. They were able to have 1 on 1 interactions between each volunteer and each participant. One of the team members said, “We loved teaching everyone how to drive the robot. It was super fun to drive it up front for the parents to see the new skills!!” Their coach, Jason Franzenburg, also said, “I really enjoyed getting to know Gavin, Abby, and Katie! They all have unique talents!” Thank you to this amazing group of volunteers for seeing our participants as individuals and focusing on the things that they can achieve!

Playhouse Inspiration
United Way Agency Fair – John Deere Davenport Works 🚜💛💚
On September 17th, GiGi’s Playhouse QC was invited by the United Way Quad Cities as one of roughly 20 local agencies to participate in an Agency Fair at the John Deere Davenport Works. Our Executive Director, Nate, spent the day talking with employees from all three shifts about volunteer and donation opportunities at our location. The “Best of All” from the event was that two days prior to the event, one of the Davenport Works employees, Beth, who is one of our participant’s sister, had given a presentation about GiGi’s Playhouse and the impact it has made on her sister Lisa and their family. Throughout the fair, Nate heard stories about Beth’s wonderful presentation. Thank you, Beth, for inspiring us to tell our Playhouse’s success stories!

YOU can submit your Best of All stories and moments too!
Staff typically choose these stories, but we’d love to hear from you, too! If you see or hear something worth highlighting, please let us know!
