September 2024 Best of All

Participant Best of All

Grandparents are participants too! Programs at GiGi’s are a family affair. Siblings, grandparents, aunts, and uncles are always welcome. We recently had a program specifically for Grandparents and while we only had a couple attend it was still a magical morning. Grandparents, you are welcome anytime!

Volunteer Spotlight

Luke and Rick have truly hit it off this fall. Each week they show up in different jerseys or shirts representing their favorite teams. Rick has made Luke’s first time with literacy tutoring memorable by finding common ground and Luke has excelled during their sessions.
This is just one example of the friendships that are made at GiGi’s!

Playhouse Inspiration

Our inspiration from September was a Friday night when we had a packed Playhouse! It was packed with teens and adults enjoying a movie night and parents learning more about the correlation between Dementia and Down syndrome with our special speaker Erin. It was such a great night of friendship, connections, and much more. It’s hard to put into words the energy within the Playhouse walls that night.

Read more about the Dementia & Down Syndrome topic on a previous blog linked here.

YOU can submit your Best of All stories and moments too!

Staff typically choose these stories, but we’d love to hear from you too! If you see or hear something worth highlighting, please let us know!
