Planning for 2017

As we are heading into the holiday season, we want to make sure you all know how truly thankful we are to have you as part of GiGi’s family. Whether you are a participant, volunteer or donor we thank you! Without you our local Playhouse would not be what it is today.

The board of managers, staff and committee members are already planning for the upcoming new year. We are excited by some of the things that will be coming to the Playhouse and hope you will be too. Along with new and/or renewed programs, we will be adding speech therapy and keyboarding sessions to the list of offerings. We are planning exciting topics for the Family Speaker Series and we are also well into the planning for the next big fundraiser. You may have seen the announcement for the 2017 “I Have a Voice” Gala but just in case you missed it, it will be held on March 4, 2017 at the iWireless center in Moline, IL. We hope that you will join us for a night of celebration and inspiration. The evening will include cocktails, dinner, dancing, and entertainment as well as live and silent auctions. We will also be launching ticket sales for a 50/50 raffle very soon. Please remember that the Playhouse receives no state or federal money. It thrives solely on donations, fundraisers and sponsorships. Your participation, support and promotion of this fundraiser is critical to the overall success. The event is titled “I Have a Voice” to help strengthen the message that individuals with Down syndrome do have a voice. They have a say in their lives and we are here to help make sure everyone listens. We also want to remind you that YOU have a voice. Your voice can help spread their message and ours.

Now our message to you is to sit back and relax, enjoy your holidays with family and friends. If you’re out and about shopping stop by and say hi. You can also check a few people off your list with a 2017 GiGi’s calendar or a generation G bangle bracelet. We even have wrapping paper you can wrap them up with!

See you at the Playhouse!
