“more please”

I just need to brag a bit on this girl right here… This is our friend Leah.

Leah was the first new baby I met at the Playhouse back in April 2016. She has grown so much over the last 16 months and I just am so amazed by her and her family. I have had the absolute pleasure of working with her and her family with the Amina Grace Speech and Language Program. She started out with 1 or 2 signs and she has just picked up several so quickly and is using 2 signs together to ask for things! She loves her bubbles and the bubble machine (as you can see in the picture) at the Playhouse and yesterday was amazing! When I turned off the bubble machine, Leah would look around and I would ask or mom and dad would ask, “Do you want more?” and Leah would look at us and sign “more please”. I am so proud of her and her family! I am a firm believer that families are the best teachers for our friends and more therapy occurs after they leave the session with me. I am so thankful that her family can see all the hard work that they have put in to help Leah communicate. It shows every single week I see her. Her family took my advice and implemented my suggestions into their routine at home and her communication has flourished! Leah’s family is amazing and I am so excited that I could help her grow. I cannot wait to see what amazing things will happen for her in the future! Thank you for sharing your daughter with me.
