March 1st Craft Day 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm

Parents, Volunteers, Teen & Adult Participants, please join the Gala Committee for a crafting day at the Playhouse! We will be creating wreaths, decorations, and other items for the upcoming Gala. You will also get to create something to take home with you!

March 21st World Down Syndrome Day

CANCELLED – World Down Syndrome Day Open House Celebration @ GiGi’s Playhouse 10:00 am – 2:00 pm 

Join GiGi’s on World Down Syndrome Day for an open house at the Playhouse! There will be fun carnival games, free crazy socks, prizes, snacks and more! This event is open to all the community!

Teachers’ Aide Fundraiser @ Moline and Davenport Locations 10:00 am – 6:00 pm

Teachers’ Aide is holding a special fundraiser for GiGi’s on World Down Syndrome Day and a portion of all sales that day will be donated to GiGi’s. Be sure to show them your crazy socks so they know you’re there to help support GiGi’s Playhouse!

Orange Leaf WDSD Specials @ Orange Leaf 12:00 pm – 10:00 pm

All day long they are offering a special WDSD deal! Buy One, Get One ½ Off. Just show them your mismatched/crazy socks to get the deal!

POSTPONED – Rock Star Bingo @ The Phoenix 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm

Join GiGi’s for music themed bingo. There will be a cash bar, fun prizes and a raffle. Registration is coming soon and all proceeds will go to GiGi’s Playhouse. Wear your crazy socks!

March 28th Quad Cities Area Family Fair 9:30 am – 12:00 pm

All Ages, All Abilities, All Families.

Hand-in-Hand, GiGi’s Playhouse, and the Children’s Therapy Center have come together again for the Quad Cities Area Family Fair! This event will be all-inclusive and organizations that serve all families/kids/abilities will be in attendance. Additional information about the Family Resource Fair can be found here.

Programs

LMNOP (Language, Music N’ Our Peeps (0-3 years)

LMNOP is an interactive and engaging program designed to guide parents and young children through learning basic sign language and other forms of communication using music and language-based activities. The theme will be family! We recommend this program for ages birth-3 years.

2 & Under (0-2 years)

2 and Under is the perfect place for children to meet new friends, learn and grow; while parents have the opportunity to socialize and network with one another!

Teen Tastic (13-17) & Fantastic Friends (18+)

Teen Tastic promotes friendship, social interactions, communication through a variety of social activities, outing, and games for teens. Participants in Teen Tastic gain confidence, leadership skills, and empowerment while working as part of a team or on individual projects and tasks.

Fantastic Friends program supports the development of social skills and language through peer to peer interaction in a casual fun setting. Adult participants participate in the planning of activities so that group activities are based on personal interests.

Parent University Webinar (Parents/Guardians)

Money, Money, Money… What It All Means – In this class we will start to be the “architects” of your future. We will work through the vision of what you would hope to achieve, the basic information you will need to gather to be ready to take the next steps, and the details that are so important for your future.

Playhouse Pals (5-8 years) and Kids Club (9-12 years)

Playhouse Pals and Kid’s Club are teaming up to this month for a family theme. Playhouse Pals is an interactive and engaging program. We support the development of social skills and language through peer to peer interaction in a casual and fun setting. Kids Club supports the development of social skills and language through peer to peer interaction in a casual and fun setting.

Destination Discovery (all ages)

Supports the development of fine motor skills, gross motor skills, social skills and language through purposeful play and peer to peer interaction in a casual and fun setting. This program also brings families together to share experiences and build relationships. All ages welcome. The theme for Destination Discovery will be St Patrick’s Day! Wear your green.

Family Speaker Series

Have you ever thought about sending your loved one to camp? The speaker this month is from Camp Courageous.

Family Speaker Series: Do you have questions about IEP’s, IFSP’s, common core, or school services (OT, PT, Speech)? What about transitioning from different ages and stages in your child’s life? Do you have questions on legal or financial planning for your child’s future? This is the program for you! The Family Speaker Series will touch on a variety of topics, allowing our families to come in and talk with one other, as well as, bringing community members to the Playhouse to provide ideas and strategies to our families.

Open Play (all ages)

Join us for a Pizza & Play day with the Quad Cities Unite in Motherhood Group. Please RSVP early so we can plan accordingly.

GiGiFIT Teen (13-17 years)

All new fitness program beginning February 6 and meeting every Thursday for 12 weeks! The program will be led by Paige Kelly, DPT. Applications are closed. GiGiFIT Teen introduces the key movements (MMPT Principles) of foundational exercises, hip strengthening exercises, and vestibular/balance exercises. Registration is closed.

Social Dancing (13 and up)                                          

GiGi’s is partnering with QC SoDa the local Social Dancing club to bring you Social Dance. QC SoDa will be leading a 9 week (10 sessions) of a dance chosen by the group of participants (ballroom, salsa, waltz, etc). The dance will then be performed on April 25th at the “i have a Voice” Gala. Registration is closed.

GiGi Prep (18 and up)

GiGi Prep teaches career-oriented concepts including, but not limited to the introduction of the skills in the area of money management, public speaking, customer service, team building and wellness. All NEW this year is a partnership with the St Ambrose University Occupational Therapy Department. The program will be held at the University and overseen by instructors and students. Registration is closed.
