Let’s talk…

Let’s talk about generationG.

Maybe for some of you, this is your first-time hearing about this generationG thing, for others, you have heard it before, but don’t know much about it, while even fewer of you know what generationG is or see it in your lives.

So, what is generationG?

generationG is a conscious decision to be better every day.

Be Accepting. Be Generous. Be Kind.

At GiGi’s Playhouse we strive to be accepting, generous and kind. In our Playhouse and Playhouses across the country we see people living generationG and we see what a better world we have because of this! generationG could mean being generous with your time and money, accepting others or being kind to others.

As a blog post earlier this month explained, I was the recipient of the Generation G Award at the 2017 GiGi’s Playhouse National Conference. This was completely unexpected and I had so many emotions going through me, that you might have caught me tearing up, just a bit. I do spend much of my free time working on things for the Amina Grace Speech and Language Program and the Math and Literacy programs for the entire GiGi’s network. You also see me executing the Amina Grace Speech and Language Program right here at our Quad Cities location.  I work hard, I know that, but I never look at everything that I accomplish as just “me”. There are so many people that have put forth the time and effort to bring me to GiGi’s Playhouse Quad Cities, that I believe that I am just continuing their passion and vision for what they want GiGi’s Playhouse to be. Everyone here, from our donors, volunteers, staff and families, is living generationG and I could not be more honored to have received this award as a representative for our Playhouse.

For everyone reading this, I want you to try to take a moment every day to be generationG. Try something small at first and work into more. I believe that you will find this can change your life in unexpected ways. It changed mine.
