Getting to Know Our Board – Beth Takemoto

BethWe continue our “Getting to Know Our Board” series with an introduction to Board Member and Gala Chair, Beth Takemoto.

My name is Beth Takemoto and I have been a GiGi’s Playhouse Quad Cities board member since 2013.  I was born in the Quad Cities and moved back in 2012.  I became very interested in GiGi’s Playhouse after driving by the Playhouse on the way to work.  My older sister, Lisa Takemoto, has Down syndrome and my parents spent a lot of time trying to find the right resources while we were growing up.  We were so lucky to have the Quad City community welcome our family with open arms but it would have been fantastic to have a place like GiGi’s Playhouse.  GiGi’s playhouse helps connect families and resources.

I am married to Joe Liefer and we both work for John Deere.  We love to travel, hike, run, bike, and be outdoors.  Our honeymoon was hiking Mount Kilimanjaro and we are in the midst of planning our next big adventure.

I have been impressed by how quickly GiGi’s Playhouse Quad Cities has grown and look forward to being a part of it in the future.
