April: Best of Alls

Hello, all! We hope you, friends, and families are all staying safe, happy, and healthy during these times. We sure do miss your smiling faces, but we are so proud to see everyone staying active and participating in our virtual programs to make the best of this time!

We want to feature a few Best of All’s this week to keep spirits high! Our Participant Best of All this week is Abby! She has been regularly attending GiGi’s At Home Programs and is loving it. She has especially enjoyed participating in some of the programs that we don’t hold locally. Here she is participating in GiGi’s Kitchen. Feel free to check out our Non-local Programs hosted by GiGi’s nationals on the website!

We’re also highlighting a couple of volunteers for this past April’s Best of All! Molly Kindelsperger volunteered to come to the Playhouse to help get auction items loaded to the auction platform. Sadly, we didn’t take a picture, but we appreciated the help getting a lot of the items loaded in one day so we could open the auction early. Jim and Carson Paulsgrove offered to help deliver auction items to winners one afternoon to help Carson gain driving hours for drivers ed. All social distancing guidelines were met during both of these activities and we were so grateful for the help!

As for our donor and outreach Best of All’s, this one is dedicated to everyone who participated in this year’s first-ever virtual I Have a Voice Gala!

The virtual gala was a true inspiration in every sense of the word. We felt the love, support, and appreciation through social media and the streamed video. Families, donors, and volunteers all came together that one night from their homes to celebrate GiGi’s, thanks to our amazing participants and volunteers that make the Playhouse programs possible.

Some dressed up in fancy clothes while others dressed in their favorite team attire and had a meal fit for a ballpark. We also heard of a family that coordinated a zoom call with all of their family and friends that had planned to attend.

We are so grateful for a community that is so strong and bonded together through these times of great change. The feedback has been tremendous and the fact that the net amount raised is so close to what we had hoped for when planning the in-person event is a true testament that the community believes in the GiGi’s mission! Let’s all aim for our Best of All this next month!
