January 2021 Best of All!

Each month we look back on the previous month and choose 3 stories to share with our board and the national office.

We also highlight many of them on the Best of All Wall here at the Playhouse!

Here’s a look back on January 2021.

Participant Best of All:

Amelia was the first to participate in 1-1 in-person tutoring here at GiGi’s Playhouse Quad Cities! Amelia is currently enrolled in in-person math tutoring and in-person speech and language. Her math tutor, Emma, was very excited to set up different activities to keep up with Amelia’s energy level.

Volunteer Spotlight:

As previously announced here on our blog. We have a new board member. Jenny is currently being onboarded and going through the training process. We are excited to have her join the team and we look forward to working with her. Jenny lives in Bettendorf, IA with her husband, Daniel, and their dog, Buddy, as well as their two cats, Kevin and Rosie. Jenny was born and raised nearby in Muscatine, IA, and recently returned to the Quad Cities after living in Sioux City, IA, and St. Louis, MO.  She is currently an associate attorney at Lane & Waterman LLP.  In her free time, Jenny enjoys watching hockey, walking her dog, cooking, and reading. Jenny joined the board because she wanted to make a positive impact on her community and support her family members and community members with Down syndrome and other disabilities!

Playhouse Inspiration (Donor, Outreach, Event, etc.):

We hand-selected 20 donors that donated over $1000 in 2020 to send a special thank you and a small token of our appreciation. We are thankful for all donations and donors. YOU make our free programs possible.
