2 Speech Goals = Best of All

You may recognize Amelia from many of our social media posts.  She gives us some of the best video opportunities and smiles. Last week Amelia MET TWO OF HER SPEECH GOALS!

Amelia has been working hard at creating longer phrases, having better speech sounds and recently began using an assistive communication device. In one session she reached goals on longer phrases and use of her device.

It was an amazing session, Dad’s face could not have been any brighter.

Amelia participates in the Amina Grace Speech and Language program here at GiGi’s Playhouse Quad Cities and since I began seeing her 3 years ago, she has grown in leaps and bounds with language, speech and, well, ok attitude!

Keep up the good work Amelia and family.

The GiGi’s Amina Grace Speech & Language 1:1 program is open to individuals with Down syndrome of ALL ages and runs 3 sessions throughout the year. This program, like all others at GiGi’s Playhouse, is provided completely FREE OF CHARGE to all of our participants and families! This program has been made possible thanks to generous donations from Munawar Ali and Maura Cullen via the Amina Grace Memorial Fund in honor of their daughter Amina Grace. We received additional funding this past year via a grant from United Way Quad Cities.

Sensory = Speech = Fun

It may look like play but there is always learning happening!

You can learn more about the Amina Grace Speech and Language program on our website linked here.
