Kids Club: Personal Space

Playhouse Pals and Kid’s Club are teaming up to work on social skills. Join us this month to talk about respecting others opinions and feelings. We’re meeting at the Moline Public Library this month. We’ll get a special tour and enjoy a picture scavenger hunt!

Kids Club is an interactive and engaging program for participants ages 8 through 12. We support the development of social skills and language through peer to peer inter­action in a casual and fun setting. This program may also support gross motor skills through active games, fine motor and self-help skills through meal/snack preparation and activities.

Kids Club supports the therapeutic-based development of individuals with Down syndrome, with goals of achieving the following:

• Increase social skills, focusing on group participation and increasing leisure activity options.
• Increase language development, focusing on vocabulary development, language comprehension and social communication with peers.
• Increase gross motor skills, focusing on general health, fitness (strength and balance), and utilizing motor skills to participate in educational, social, and leisure activities.
