‘Tis the Season of Giving!

On GivingTuesday 2023, young adults from GiGi’s NYC Career Development Program gave back by gathering food, clothing and essentials for families served by a public school in the community. This school educates children of under-resourced families in Harlem, and children of families that have recently migrated from around the world.

Megan Moore, Special Educator of GiGi’s NYC Adult Programs adds, “Our Career Development Program not only teaches independence and job readiness, but it also instills a sense of community and the value of giving back in our young adults.”

One participant said about this experience: “For me, donating allowed us to give good memories to kids, and I want to continue to donate to make other kids happy.” As per another participant, “It makes me happy to make other people happy.”

Although GivingTuesday has passed, the season of giving has just begun! GiGi’s NYC is still collecting donations and we are calling on our community to give back with GiGi’s NYC for this holiday season. All donations must be dropped off at our playhouse by no later than 12/13/23. Please contact MacKenzie Leger at mleger@gigisplayhouse to coordinate drop off.

Happy Holidays to all!
