Participant Spotlight: Joshua Berg

GiGi’s NYC is overjoyed to continue celebrating Down Syndrome ACHIEVEMENT Month by showcasing our participant, Joshua Berg. Joshua’s humor, passion for exercise, and his admiration of the Los Angeles Dodgers are just some reasons that make him so awesome! Check out what he has to say:

  • How old are you?
    • 19
  • What GiGi’s NYC programs do you attend?
    • Summer Programs and some Sunday dances and events
  • How did you find out about GiGi’s NYC?
    • Online
  • Which programs have meant the most to you and why?
    • Summer Programs, chance to meet up with friends and really get a chance to shine, grow, experience, learn, develop, and have some summer fun.
  • What does GiGi’s NYC mean to you?
    • It’s a safe place where I can be me and feel great about it
  • What have you gained from our programs?
    • A lot of confidence, belief in myself and acceptance.
  • How do you enjoy spending your free time?
    • Being with family, singing, dancing, watching, and playing sports.
  • What achievements are you most proud of? What achievements can you connect to skills you have learned at GiGi’s NYC?
    • I love art and GiGi’s NYC has great art and yoga classes during Summer Programs.
  • What do you want the GiGi’s NYC community to know?
    • GiGi’s NYC rocks and we are lucky to have each other.
  • What would you like to see from GiGi’s NYC in the future? Do you have any ideas for new programs or special events?
    • Longer Summer Programs, more dancing, basketball, singing events.
