Meet our Youth Board: Annie O’Malley

GiGi’s NYC is thrilled to have our Youth Board host Dancing For Down Syndrome again this year! Read more about Annie, member of our Youth Board, below:

How and when did you first get involved with GiGi’s NYC? My family began going to GiGi’s NYC to have fun for Halloween and Valentine’s Day parties. I was little.

What does GiGi’s NYC mean to you? I like meeting new friends, Best Buddies with Dalton School, the Fashion Show, attending Friday teen nights, and being a part of the Summer Adventures program.

What is your favorite thing about GiGi’s NYC community? Making new friends, participating in programs like the World Down Syndrome Day panel at Microsoft, and, most of all, Summer Adventures.

What does Down syndrome awareness and acceptance look like to you? Everyone is happy and can participate.

What from our community are you most proud of? Being part of the community.

How do you enjoy spending your free time? Swimming, dancing, singing, and hanging out with friends.

What do you want the GiGi’s NYC community to know? GiGi’s is family.

GiGi’s NYC is grateful to have a growing number of high school students advocate for the Down syndrome community in such an impactful and thoughtful way. We are thankful to Annie, and the rest of the Youth Board, for spearheading this event for the second year in a row. To learn more about Dancing For Down Syndrome, please visit our website. We hope to see you there on June 10th!
