New Board President, Robert “Bob” Kimbro

GiGi’s Playhouse New Orleans is pleased to announce that Bob Kimbro is the new Board President. Bob brings a wealth of leadership and nonprofit experience to GiGi’s having served in leadership positions for the United Way of Southeast Louisiana, Children’s Bureau of New Orleans, Leukemia Lymphoma Society, and Plaquemines CARE Center where he has served as either as Board President or Treasurer during his Board tenures.  Bob has served on the GiGi’s Playhouse New Orleans board since 2019 and has served as Vice President during that time before being named Board President. He is committed to supporting GiGi’s Playhouse New Orleans to enable individuals with Down syndrome to fully develop their skills and knowledge to allow them to live their lives to their fullest, just as we envision for everyone in our society.  Individuals with Down syndrome need extra skill development and enhancement just as we all do from time to time.  GiGi’s Playhouse brings that skill development to those with Down syndrome at no cost to the individual or to their families.  In addition, the mission of GiGi’s is to bring the concept of acceptance for all to the forefront of our society to remind us that everyone has dreams and needs.

Bob is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) who has over 40 years of experience in public accounting and consulting. He started his career with Arthur Andersen and in 2002 moved to Ernst and Young. In 2005, Bob was appointed as the Office Managing Partner for the EY Louisiana practice. In that role he led a practice with over 10 partners and approximately 200 professionals providing audit, advisory, tax and transaction advisory services to businesses throughout Louisiana and Mississippi.  He retired from public accounting in 2018 and since that time has enjoyed assisting both nonprofits and small organizations with fundraising and organizational process development through his personal time and through his latest business venture, SageWay LLC. Bob was the 2020 recipient of the Society of Louisiana Certified Public Accountants Public Service Award which recognizes a member for a career devoted to public service through philanthropic endeavors.

Bob spends his time enjoying giving back to the community through his extensive nonprofit Board participation and enjoying his family of three children and three grandchildren with his wife Debbie.
